Today is our three year wedding anniversary!
Naturally we did what every married couple does on their anniversary and got together for a romantic lunch date… at Chipotle!
Ha!
After working through the morning, I showered at home before it was time for my follow-up appointment with my allergist. Everything went well (no crazy allergic reactions since we last met) and I left feeling quite hungry. Since Chipotle is located close to my allergist’s office and Ryan’s work, it made the perfect meeting spot for our lunch date and I wasted no time ordering a burrito bowl with brown rice, black and pinto beans, carnitas, chicken, salsa, peppers and onions. It filled me right up!
Once we were done eating, we took a quick side trip to TJMaxx to make a return. While we were there, I saw a pumpkin that was bigger than Sadie and almost bought it.
After sharing that picture on Instagram, I must admit that I love the fact that so many of you guys gave it a thumbs up and clearly have no boundaries when it comes to fall decor. No wonder we all get along so well.
Shortly after snapping that photo, I found the price tag and let’s just say even the most ritzy Maxxinista would have experienced some sticker shock. It was $70 which is about $68 too many for this girl. (In the pumpkin’s defense, it does light up.)
Now I am back at our house and need to put some finishing touches on Ryan’s anniversary gift before he gets home from work. Ryan seems pretty proud of the gift he got for me this year, so the pressure is on! We like to try to follow the anniversary gift themes, which means this year we should be getting each other leather gifts, but I am straying off course a bit.
See ya tomorrow, my friends!
Question of the Afternoon
- Do you celebrate anniversaries?
- What is the best anniversary gift you’ve given or received?
When I was in college (and thus pretty strapped for cash), my boyfriend and I would write each other love letters for anniversary gifts.
I have been CRAVING chipotle, I’m jealous of your burrito bowl.
You look gorg in that photo by the way! Happy anniversary!
happy anniversary to you & ryan!
i love that giant pumpkin, but you’re right – just a *tad* too pricey! 😉
Aw congrats! I didn’t know your anniversary was today! I actually met my husband 4 years ago today. Crazy!
As a fellow maxxanista, there is NO WAY I’d pay that for a pumpkin decoration! I tend to follow the TJMaxx rule that if you don’t have more than 2 things in your hands when you get ready to leave, you’re better off coming back next week. I live for TJMaxx wandering.
Happy Anniversary! If Ryan’s leather gift is true to the trait, then you might have a good looking new handbag tomorrow or something better!
Happy Anniversary! It feels like I was JUST reading about your wedding!
Happy anniversary! It’s soooo crazy how time flies (I’m right at 5 1/2 years). Chipotle sounds like the perfect lunch date! 🙂
And I have to agree, as awesome as that pumpkin is, $70 is WAY too much. Good decision.
Happy Anniversary! Since I only got married in June I haven’t had any anniversaries to celebrate, but I love how y’all have themes. Also, chipotle is acceptable for any kind of date, and for any occasion. It is that good.
Happy anniversary! <3
Can't wait to see what you all got each other!
Happy anniversary! And I agree… while a light-up pumpkin does sound kind of awesome, I’m going to have to back away at $70!
I love anniversaries!! happy 3 years!
I want that pumpkin!! It is so fantastic! Happy Anniversary!
Happy anniversary! 🙂
My husband and I went to Chickfila for our three year anniversary this year lol. We were both working that day and had school in the evening. It was still pretty awesome!
Happy Anniversary, Julie and Ryan!!!! I hope it was a great day for both of you 🙂
Yay happy anniversary! True life: my brother-in-law gets Taco Bell every year for his birthday since he knows he’ll never get it any other time.
Happy three year wedding anniversary! I can’t believe you’ve been married for three years already. I remember reading when you were planning your wedding! 🙂
For our first anniversary, my husband locked me out of the spare bedroom for 3 days. On the day of our anniversary he was still in there, toiling away. I went for a run, took a shower, and when I was done he was playing our wedding song (Marry Me by Train), and had my gift on the table. He had scrapbooked our entire honeymoon with photos, tickets, receipts, and maps (we did a week in Vancouver/Seattle, WA). I’m not even that crafty! It was the best present I have ever received 🙂
Happy 3 year! We always celebrate our anniversary too, and I always want to do something adventurous! We’ve been married 3 years and have gone spelunking, did a mud run, and gone zip-lining! We always have a great time and normally get some sort of souvenir together as our gift 🙂
We do celebrate them, we usually just go out to a nice dinner. One year my hubby bought me a beautiful ring though 🙂
Congratulations!
BTW Your hair looks AMAZING… I wish I could do that with mine!
Happy Anniversary! My hubby and i just had our 3rd on October 9th. We do the traditional gifts too..except he got confused this year and thought it was wood instead of leather, but i got a really great wooden bracelet out of it 🙂
Happy 3rd Anniversary!! I can’t wait to see what you got each other!! We also stick to the “traditional” gifts and for our 3rd anniversary, I gave my husband a leather picture frame for work. And he gave me a new purse!
Not that it has anything to do with anything but your hair looks AMAZING in these pics. I need to up my curling iron skills game.
We go to Chipotle for our anniversary as well. We actually had Chipotle cater our wedding. It was great. The whole crew came out to the reception. It was like a Chipotle restaurant opened up right in our reception site. Oh the happy memories. Happy Anniversary!
Hi Julie! Happy Anniversary! I bought that Almay mascara that you like and it’s AMAZING! Thanks for the reco. Just curious–do you color your hair? It’s so pretty but very natural looking. Just wondering!
Thanks,
Jill
Isn’t it the best!!? So glad you like it! And no, I don’t color my hair but I really appreciate your kind words! 🙂
CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!! You are so pretty!!!! I love your hair style. Do you do that with a curling iron? Oh, that pumpkin decor is to die for!:) Have a great Halloween!!
I do! But I wrap my hair around it and don’t use the clip. 🙂
I haven’t gotten used to it,’ she said. ‘I don’t know if anyone is going to believe me on that, but it really is something I can’t get used to. I’m still surprised.
