As for today, I’m diving into your favorites from the past year in the fashion and beauty categories. This is always a little bit trickier to document as fashion finds sell out and go out of stock quickly as seasons change. To create the list below I just bumped up the next most popular in-stock item that you guys loved to share in place of the out-of-stock items and they were all still very popular, very well-loved items. It’s clear we all love affordable and comfortable fashion finds and, when it comes to beauty, everything from skincare items and makeup to mouth guard cleaners and hair brushes were most popular!
Top 10 Fashion Finds of 2024
Who knew socks would be such a hit!?
Crew Socks: These crew socks cracked the top 10 fashion favorites last year and made it all the way to the number one spot this year! Back in 2023, I was on a mission to find crew socks that checked a few important boxes and these Amazon crew socks ended up being my winners. The thickness level is perfect — they’re soft and comfortable without being too thick so my feet don’t get too sweaty — and they hit at a great spot on the leg so they’re nice and flattering (no cankles)! Plus, I love all of the colors in the multi-pack and find myself reaching for them multiple times a week these days.
No Show Socks: I ordered these socks as a replacement for my no-show BOMBAS when a few pairs I’ve had and loved for years began to get holes in them. This was one of those find I didn’t expect to love as much as I did but the fit and feel of these socks is truly on par with my beloved BOMBAS. They’re a great find and perfect for days when I want socks to stay comfortably hidden below my sneakers. (I wear these a lot for my workouts with my Reebok Nanos!)

I wasn’t sure how this Amazon sports bra would go over when I first ordered it because there were only like 10 reviews on it at the time, though all of them were really positive. It ended up blowing me away and is officially the sports bra I reach for most often for my workouts. I have it in several colors and love the way it’s supportive but very flattering. It doesn’t completely smash everything in but maintains a feminine shape while feeling comfortable and high-quality. I wouldn’t hesitate to put this one up against some of the much more expensive sports bras on the market! (Note: I am very small chested but reviews for this one are very positive for larger chests, too!)

This is an Amazon find that has lasted me a few years and continues to be a closet staple. It truly feels like wearing a comfy blanket over my shoulders and I love it paired with sweats, jeans, joggers, dresses and midi skirts. This one is in constant rotation for me during the winter months.

Oh Vuori, you athleisure gem, you. Vuori first came on my radar a couple of years ago when I bought Ryan a handful of their athleisure and athletic-wear items for Christmas. He absolutely loved everything I gave him and I thought the fabric felt so luxuriously soft. I ended up buying a pair of their boyfriend joggers during our trip to Las Vegas and wore them non-stop. Fast forward several months and I couldn’t resist adding their cargo joggers to my collection when I saw them on their site as I was browsing around for a birthday present for Ryan. (Oops.) I absolutely love the fit and the look of the cargo joggers as well and think they look great paired with a sweater and sneakers for a slightly more put-together (but still crazy comfy) look, as well as with a traditional sweatshirt for something extra cozy. I’ve worn the heck out of all Vuori joggers I own and their DreamKnit fabric is simply the BEST. (Note: I’ve put mine in the dryer a million times and they’ve held up so well. Zerooo pilling and quality is still a 10/10.)

I received two necklaces for my birthday from my parents and haven’t taken them off since last April! (They’re the two dainty necklaces layered in the above pics.) I adore them layered together (somehow they don’t tangle) and you guys apparently love them, too! The quality of both necklaces is fantastic and I workout in them, shower in them, sleep in them, etc. and they look exactly the same as they did on my birthday. Gorjana no longer sells their Poppy gem necklace (I found one on Poshmark though!) but you can still find the tiny heart gold Amour necklace online.

This oversized stripe pullover was everywhere last year and for good reason. It was the ultimate lounge top and I certainly got a lot of use out of the two colors I ordered. I paired mine with joggers, sweats and leggings and loved the cozy look that somehow still seemed a little fun thanks to the colorful stripes.

The oversized clothing trend took over in 2024 but a lot of the items I tried were misses for me. I’m not sure if it’s my pear shape or taller frame but they’d often look sloppy and incredibly unflattering whereas they’d look adorable on some of the more petite influencers I saw sharing oversized looks. Thankfully I found some drapey items that actually did look decent and this tee topped my list of favorites last year. It hits right at the waistband of my pants (not in the middle of the hips which sooo many oversize tees seem to do) and the drop sleeves on the top gave the top some interest and helped the shape of it look more flattering on my frame. I ended up ordering this one in gray, too!

I first discovered these overalls through a Nuuly rental and instantly knew I had to keep them. Overalls vary in the way they fit but Free People nailed it with this pair because they’re flattering and comfy — no droopy booty in sight. I’ve also been able to wear them year-round which I appreciate, as they’re adorable with a long sleeve top, a flannel tied around my waist and lug boots in the fall and winter and a slew of tees and tanks in the spring and summer. They are one of my top favorite fashion purchases of 2024!

I’ve had this dress for years and it’s still one of those items I reach for in my closet again and again. It’s the perfect “I have no idea what I’m going to wear, so I’ll wear this,” outfit during the spring, summer and fall months when it’s not too hot and not too cold outside. I love it paired with everything from sandals and sneakers to booties and flats.

The crossbody we all went crazy for in 2023 was a top favorite in 2024 again! I still love this purse so darn much and it continues to be one people stop me to ask about when I wear it in person. It gives off designer vibes when you see it but is an Amazon find at a fantastic price point.

Top 10 Beauty Finds of 2024
I will forever be grateful for you guys for introducing me to this stuff! It truly is a miracle in a bottle. It was recommended repeatedly by you guys when I was in the throws of damaged nails after two back-to-back gel manicures destroyed my nails over the holidays last year. (I still haven’t had a manicure since 2023 because of how bad they were!) There is no denying KUR Illuminating Nail Concealer is priced high for a bottle of nail polish but I believe it is worth every penny of the $20 I spent because it really does have the most incredible blurring effect over bumps and ridges. It instantly maks my nails look 10 times healthier. I like it best when I take the time to apply three coats of the “milky” shade and now have several bottles of their nail lacquer in my collection as well.

I wear a mouth guard on my bottom teeth and a retainer on my top teeth to bed every single night. They both look like Invisalign aligners (though the mouth guard is significantly thicker) and they both grossed me out so completely even though I brush them and try to keep them clean. This retainer cleaner and I was NOT prepared for how well it worked! I will spare you before and after photos to preserve your gag reflex but let’s just say our cups of clear water were no longer the least bit clear after soaking our orthodontic devices in this stuff. (Ryan, Chase and I all use it!) It’s powerful yet gentle and my retainer and mouth guard have not been this clean in years. YEARS, my friends.

One random thing I love about girls’ weekend getaways is sharing and swapping favorite beauty finds, clothes, accessories, etc. I always seem to leave a weekend trip with girlfriends with a mini list of things I fell in love with over the weekend. And my trip to Scottsdale with my childhood best friends in 2024 was no different. This find came from my friend Carrie and it is magic. I borrowed her Tangle Teezer hairbrush when it was sitting on the bathroom vanity countertop and am so glad I did because it combed through my hair like a dream.
I immediately called out to Carrie to ask about it because it was THAT noticeably amazing. The bristles are flexible and gentle but incredibly effective at combing through tangles. I ordered it on the spot and use it on both wet and dry hair. I also couldn’t resist ordering one for my sister for my nieces because I know kid hair tangles are a beast! If you give this a try, I hope it exceeds all of your expectations because it blew me away.

You know those people you see where you just kind of find yourself looking at them like, “Wait. How are you so beautiful? Why is your skin so perfect? Tell me everything you know.” This recommendation comes from one of those people. During a girls’ night last year, we were joking with one of our friends about her cousin who is just drop-dead gorgeous. They had just attended a wedding together and we all noticed how gorgeous her cousin was in the wedding photos and, as it turns out, she’s an esthetician!
We got her to share the “Cliff’s Notes version” of her top skincare recommendations (yes, I know I just majorly dated myself with the Cliff’s Notes reference) and adding an exfoliant to our skincare routines was something most of us were not doing. But now we are! I started using this non-abrasive exfoliant by Paula’s Choice in early 2024 and there’s no turning back. It’s powerful but gentle (you just gently smooth it onto your skin after cleansing and using your toner) and I swear I’ve noticed improved skin tone and reduced redness. It’s also supposed to help combat enlarged pores, wrinkles, blackheads and aging… I mean I’ll take ALL of that! (A bonus: I use it 2-3 times a week so it lasts forever!)

You guyssss! The level of excitement that flowed through my body when I saw Clinique black honey lip balm was still available to buy!!! I shared this story on Instagram, but as a young teen, most of my makeup was my mom and grandmothers’ Clinique leftovers from their bonus bags. They’d often take advantage of Clinique bonus days and get samples of new shades of makeup along with a cute little toiletry bag. I’m sure I had no business wearing a lot of the shades of makeup that found their way into my makeup arsenal, but Clinique’s black honey lip balm was a solid find back then and it’s one that still holds up today. The shade is so beautiful, layers well and feels hydrating on my lips. I’m so glad it’s back in my life!

I am not a beauty guru by any means but I am someone who appreciates a simple beauty find that works well. This makeup brush checks that box x 1,000. I initially bought it because I was tired of sticky product-saturated fingers after applying foundation/CC-cream/skin tint (whichever I decided to wear that day). At only $10 (now $8 — yay Lightning Deal!), I figured this kabuki brush was worth a shot, especially with such positive Amazon reviews. It quickly became one of my favorite items in my beauty bag and feels soft on my face as it smoothly applies my makeup. I found myself using in to apply not only my base layer makeup but also my concealer and contour stick (ya know, when I use it and pretend to know what I am doing). It’s soft, gentle on my skin and effective at evenly applying my makeup so it’s safe to say I am a fan. I also think this one would make a great stocking stuffer for any beauty lovers out there this holiday season!

I first shared my love for this sunless tanning lotion and it’s been the only sunless tanner I’ve used ever since! Why I love it: 1. It’s made with clean ingredients. 2. It’s a lotion and doesn’t require gloves or a mitt to apply. 3. It builds a natural-looking tan within a couple of hours and lasts! I also has a wonderfully nourishing feel on my skin and does not have that typical horrible sunless tanner smell. It gives my skin an even-looking tan (no orange glow) and even though I have fairly light skin, I prefer the medium to dark shade for a slightly deeper tan.

These little patches are powerful! Every month, right around that time of the month, my skin lets me know my period is coming. I’ll get a few of those hard, painful zits on my chin and it takes everything I have not to pick them like crazy even though I know picking them does nothing other than irritate them and cause scarring. Even though I can’t prevent the pimples from popping up, Mighty Patches make them a little less horrific. I started using these little patches back in 2022 and they majorly exceeded my expectations. When I apply one to a hard, painful zit and leave it on overnight, it always seems to be better in the morning (not gone but definitely better and I’ll take that)!

A few years go I had to toss out the eyelash comb I had from high school (yes, high school) because too many of the comb teeth broke off. I’ve thought about that broken comb a million times since I threw it away so why it took me so long to order a replacement, I’ll never know. I finally added an eyelash comb to my makeup collection again last year and apparently a bunch of you did as well because this was the number one beauty-related purchase from my blog last year. I cannot stand clumpy, spidery eyelashes and this eyelash comb is a dream for separating lashes with its super-fine yet gentle teeth and allows my mascara to stay on my lashes but separates them to give them a fluffier, more natural appearance.

In a previous post about my simple skincare routine, I mentioned my love for Botanic Tree Vitamin C cleanser. It’s fantastic and something I continue to use regularly in the shower. Early last year I added another cleanser by the same brand to my cart and began using it in the shower a few times a week as well. Botanic Tree Glycolic Acid Cleanser is another great one and I love that the glycolic and salicylic acids in the cleanser work together to exfoliate and brighten sensitive skin. I was most intrigued to try it when I read that the deep exfoliation works to fade dark spots, scarring and any redness or discoloration. As someone with dark spots and perpetual pinky undertones, this sold me! It’s one I never hesitate to reorder when it runs out.
