At the end of 2014, I continued a mini series I began a few years ago and featured the top posts of the year on PBF. Beginning in January, I decided to prolong the series for the duration of 2015 and highlight the top 15 posts from each month on the blog at the end of every month.
- Top 15 of 2015: January
- Top 15 of 2015: February
- Top 15 of 2015: March
- Top 15 of 2015: April
- Top 15 of 2015: May
- Top 15 of 2015: June
- Top 15 of 2015: July
These are not necessarily the top new posts I publish each month, as throwback posts from several years ago seem to pop up and claim top spots each month which I always find interesting!
Here are your most popular PBF posts (according to pageviews) from the month of August, divided into three categories: Recipes, Fitness and Extras. (Note: This series does not include any giveaways, previous Top 15 posts or Things I’m Loving Friday posts.)
RECIPES
This was the only post to crack into the top 20 most popular blog posts of the month that wasn’t baby-related, and with good reason! (See the EXTRAS category for a ranking of the baby posts.) These pumpkin spice cookies are Ryan’s all-time favorite cookie (yes, really) and they’re ridiculously easy to make. With fall right around the corner, I know these cookies will be made in our house on a weekly basis very soon. We can’t get enough!
Nuts are my go-to snack right now, as I’m always looking for something quick and filling to eat when I get a little break from baby duty. I made a batch of these nuts earlier this month and have made them several times since. Easy and tasty!
I am trying my best to get a bunch of vegetables into my diet and since my food prep time is limited right now, easy is the only way to go! These Brussels sprouts are a great side dish for any meal and I even like them with eggs in the morning for breakfast.
These flavorful pancakes taste like doughy banana pancakes but they keep you feeling way more satisfied than traditional pancakes thanks to the punch of protein!
- Three Minute Egg White Oatmeal
This recipe seems to be a popular one that you guys share a lot on Instagram which I really appreciate! I love seeing your tags come through in the morning when you make this three-minute recipe for breakfast. It’s a personal favorite and I’m so glad you guys seem to like it, too!
FITNESS
I love sharing workout playlists on the blog and compiled 10 of my favorites in this blog post for a one-stop spot of music inspiration!
I’m glad this workout claimed a top spot this month because I have a feeling it will be a great one for me to have on hand when I’m ready to begin at-home workouts during Chase’s naptime!
This 30-minute treadmill workout incorporates 10 minutes of fast walking with bursts of fast running. Get ready to get sweaty!
This blog post shares some of my favorite resources for finding affordable workout apparel brands that seem to be popular in Pure Barre classes. If you’re a barre fanatic on the lookout for cute clothes that won’t break the bank, this may be of interest to you!
I typed up this blog post to share a comprehensive list of my all-time favorite workout capris and leggings. All of the workout fashion-related blog posts I share seem to do fairly well and I think I’m a bit overdue to type up another one soon!
EXTRAS
- Baby-Related Blog Posts
Chase and baby-related blog posts claimed the top 20 spots on the blog this month, but since I don’t want the baby stuff to overwhelm this post, here are the top five blog posts related to the baby from this month in order of popularity: Chase’s Birth Story (Part I and Part II), Three Week Check In, Sadie Meets Chase and Newborn Baby Favorites.
I’m not sure why my sister’s bachelorette party posts gained traction this month, but I’m guessing people were searching for bachelorette party ideas in Savannah since wedding season in the south is about to commence now the heat of the summer is on its way out. We had a blast celebrating in Savannah and I highly recommend Savannah as a great location for a bachelorette party. It’s very walkable and a ton of fun!
This is a throwback post from 2010 and includes my top tips for new runners.
When we moved into our new house last year, I was determined to have a gallery wall in my home office. This blog post includes a simple tutorial that takes you through how we created our gallery wall!
This throwback blog post from 2010 somehow claimed a top spot this month and features tips for working out in the morning and streamlining your morning routine.

One of my goals for the month is to put up my pictures and paintings, so I’ll definitely use your tips for a gallery wall! This month flew by for me as well, so I can’t imagine how it must feel for a new mom!
Sarah @ Sweet Miles says
It’s so funny what people end up searching for and what posts gain traction more than others! Maybe one of your ‘pins’ suddenly sent over a bunch of traffic?? The steamlining your morning routine post is so great, you should do one that includes streamlining your morning routine with a baby 😉 I’d love to hear tips on that!
Julie says
I think Pinterest has a LOT to do with some of the older posts popping up on this list! And then random seasonal Google searches (pumpkin spice cookies??)!
Mattie @ Comfy & Confident says
I love the throwback to the “oldie but goodie” posts. It’s always fun to look back.
Amanda says
I definitely need to streamline my morning workouts! I have not been great about that lately.
Samantha @ThePlantedVegan says
I don’t think I’ve ever read you Streamlining Your Morning Routine post, so I’m glad it showed up on the August Top Posts!
Alyssa @ Renaissancerunnergirl says
That egg white oatmeal is awesome and withstands the test of time for sure 🙂
Rachel @ Never Enough Novels says
Those pumpkin cookies look delicious! I’m a fairly new reader so this is my first time seeing that recipe. Thank goodness for this blog post!
Jillian says
OMG I love love love those pumpkin spice cookies! I am so glad I found them on your blog years ago! I make them all throughout the fall season, and my co-workers and family love them! I add a homemade cream cheese frosting courtesy of Martha Stewart, and then I sprinkle pumpkin pie spice over the top. Seriously one of my faves! Thank you!

Hi Julie, do the Brussels sprouts not bother chase in your breast milk? I’ve been avoiding broccoli, onions, and other suggested foods because they can supposedly cause gas in your infant. I’d love some Brussle sprouts but my baby is very gassy and I’d be afraid. 🙂
Marielle says
Oh I’ll have to check out your post about the Pure Barre clothing. I love them all so much but looked at a cute shirt yesterday in the studio and it was $100…can’t justify that, ha!
Daisy @ Fit Wanderlust Runner says
I loved your brussel sprouts recipe! 🙂
Ramona says
I came here to somehow avoid my workout for a few more minutes. That’s what I did but I also added some things to it now XD thank you <3
