Trip to the Dog Park, Hilighted by Honeycrisp

October 17, 2009 by Julie 4 Comments

Animals get extra frisky when the weather changes. On our morning walk with the dog, we noticed that – for once – Sadie wasn’t the only dog running around like a total nut job, picking up every stick that crossed her path. Other dogs were acting crazy, too.

Since the 2.5 mile morning walk would not suffice for our loony dog today, we decided to leash up the pup for a trip to the dog park after we got a quick work out in at the gym.

Clearly other owners wanted to get the cold-air crazies out of their dogs too, because there were lots of playmates for Sadie running around by the time we arrived around 1 p.m.

Sadie almost immediately found a ball to play with and several hundred rounds of fetch ensued.

"C'mon Dad, throw it!"

"C'mon Dad, throw it!"

She was making many acrobatic jumps in an attempt to catch the ball mid-air, and I caught several of her limber leaps on camera.

"Get Back Here, Ball!"

Weeee!

Weeee!

Got it!

Got it!

You would think a 2.5 mile walk and more than an hour of straight running at the dog park would tire Sadie out, but she is currently hitting my hand with a ball for more play time. Gotta love her! 🙂

When we got back from the park, my tummy was hungry! I was anxious to dig into the Honeycrisp apple I bought this morning. After eating half (so crisp and sweet!), I topped a cup of Greek yogurt with the other half of the apple and half of a frozen banana.

The combination was the perfect balance of tart, sweet and crunchy.

I’m now off to hit up Target with Ryan. I will try to exercise control, but I make no guarantees. 🙂

Where did you get your Vizsla from? I’ve been trying to convince my parents to get me one for over a year! Hopefully you can help! I love your blogs as well.
