Twice is a company that accepts gently used brand-name clothing and resells it on their website for a discounted price. You simply ship your clothes to them using one of their prepaid labels. Twice then makes an offer on all or some of the items. You can accept the offer or, if you choose not to, you can pay $5 for return shipping or elect to have Twice donate the unwanted items to Goodwill for free.
Twice only accepts certain brands, so the majority of my clothes were donated to Goodwill a month or so ago, but I kept a few items to send to Twice and hoped they would meet their requirements.
My donations included:
- 1 French Connection skirt
- 1 Banana Republic Outlet cardigan
- 1 Calvin Klein dress
- 2 pairs of Hudson jeans
- 1 pair of True Religion jeans
I sent my clothes to Twice on a Wednesday and received an email with an offer to buy everything but one pair of jeans from me on Saturday. Talk about a fast turnaround!
I happily accepted the $58 dollar offer and told them to donate the pair of jeans that they did not accept to Goodwill. Sweet!
Onto lunch!
Lunch
Lunch today started on the stovetop.
I sautéed kale and chicken sausage in a bit of olive oil and seasoned the sausage and greens with a sprinkle of garlic salt. While that was cooking in a skillet, I microwaved a sweet potato for just under five minutes after poking it all over with a fork.
Easy peasy!
When you saute kale like that what kind of flavor do you get?
it’s a slightly more intense flavor than spinach. i let it cook on the stovetop over a medium-low heat for a while and liked it a lot!
that sounds like a great website!
I have a stack of clothes just sitting on my floor that I haven’t taken anywhere yet..I’ll try this site first! Thanks!
Definitely interesting website, worth checking out for sure!
How cool! I’ll need to do this sometime, I’ve got a pile of clothes in my apartment in Chicago that I was just going to donate!
Twice sounds like such a great thing, I need to check it out! Your chicken sausage & kale looks yummy!! 🙂
What a great organization! I would totally donate if I owned any brandname clothes. Does Target count?
I’m always getting rid of clothes so I need to remember this!
What did we do before microwaves! Instant healthy fast food!
OMG I have to take advantage of Twice! Time to clean out the closet! Thanks Julie!!
I usually consign my clothes at Second Time Around but have to wait until the clothes actually sell to get my cut! Twice sound likes the better option I will definitely take this into consideration next time!
I’ve never heard of this website but I am totally checking it out now! Thanks for sharing 🙂
What a cool website! I’ll have to keep that in mind when I go through my closet again.
That’s not a bad deal at all! I’m going to have to look into that website! 🙂 I love kale. Kale chips are so yummy. I’ve been wanting sweet potatoes lately. I need to pick some up from the store this weekend.
Your lunch pictures have inspired me to be a little more creative with my lunch. Thanks! By the way, I like to sprinkle a little brown sugar on my baked sweet potato. Do you put anything on yours?
i topped mine with a bit of smart balance!
i usually add cinnamon, too, now that i think about it, but didn’t for some reason today!
That lunch sounds amazing. Love all of those things, and I’m espcially hungry today because I forgot my snacks. Eep!
Do they send you a check or do you just get credit for the site?
you can request a check or have the money deposited into a paypal account (which is what i did).
Hey Julie! I checked out this website when you mentioned it before, but haven’t sent in my clothes yet. How long did it take to get the payment?
Wow, that’s quite a payoff for those clothes! I never seem to make money with resale places, but that’s an awesome trade in if you ask me.
Your chicken sausage meals always look so good. What kind do you use?
That lunch looks so delicious!
I’m so glad that Twice worked for you! Your $58 sale definitely beats my $30 sale! I also purchased a dress from them that didn’t work out, and the return was super easy as well.
Your lunch looks awesome. I’m kind of obsessed with roasting half my kale and then sauteing the other half and eating it together. So good. That’s so sweet about the clothes. I really need to do that, I usually just donate them but a little moola wouldn’t be too shabby.
Oh my gosh that’s amazing! Thank you for sharing!
Yum, I love chicken sausage! That’s a cool website too. I have so many clothes to donate right now but I would love to make some money off of the nicer brands. Thanks for the suggestion!
What a cool website! I’ve never seen anything quite like it – kind of like an upscale consignment store. And it sounds like they are super organized! Businesses like that always get my instant respect!
That lunch looks identical to my meals this week!
Wow, that is a really cool site. Thanks for sharing!
OOOH! I can’t wait to check out Twice!
Thanks for that review- I am definitely going to give them a try and I was looking for new resources too!
I will definitely be trying that website! I have a huge stack of clothes in my closet that I was going to give to Goodwill but I will try this first! Thanks Julie!
That’s a great site to know–thanks for sharing! Anything is better than simply donating your old clothes! Also thanks for sharing the details on how you cooked your lunch. It helps newbie cooks like me more than you know 🙂
What a good review! I’ve taken my clothes to a store like that before and have gotten around $20 for 15 items (that were brand name, too!). It was a little disappointing.
But okay, I know I’m a blog-stranger to you but I have to show you the image on this new calendar I got. Totally made me think of you and Sadie!

If you get a second check it out, easily the best purchase I’ve made all year 😉
that’s a lot!! i always try to take stuff to plato’s closet and they never accept anything haha
That meal looks great. They robbed you though! You could have made quadruple on eBay. : ) it’s better than nothing though. : )
That’s an awesome idea! I may have to try it out!
I have never heard of this website before!!! It sounds awesome, I wish I had known before because I always just give my clothes away. Taking them to a consignment shop usually takes forever and I don’t usually make anything out of the deal. I am definitely going to try Twice 🙂
Super cute Old Navy Clothes the other day! DO you mind me asking the size of the grey pullover you got) I have to order online and want to make sure I get around the right size.
Thank you!
Heather
Julie – where’s your bachelor review! Lol missed it 🙂
I’d say you got a good deal!
That company sounds great! I would love an extra $58 in my pocket for clothes that I rarely/never wear. Sounds like a great trade! 🙂
Just came across your site on pinterest. You are in Ocala!! I’m in Gainesville. I saw your list of Disney songs….I am running the Disney Half this weekend with some friends. I didn’t even think about adding Disney music to my playlist, I may have to get a few. great ideas!
good luck to you!!!
That chicken sausage looks delicious! I love alfresco brand is that what you use?! And I have a recent love for kale! Thanks for the delicious idea!

LOVE the idea of Twice. Thanks for sharing, I will need to investigate!
Yummy lunch! This may sound a bit strange, but have you even tried a sliced microwaved sweet potato with Laughing Cow Light Cheese spread on top? I swear it is the BEST way to eat sweet potato. Mixes the sweet and creaminess perfectly.
Thanks so much for sharing about Twice! I have a lot of jeans I’m looking to get rid of, this seems like a great way to do it!
Thanks for the post! I just so happen to have a bag of clothes ready to donate, so I may as well see if I can make a little cash!
Great, great website!
Ok, your lunch looks amazing. I need to make that!
Love simple lunches like that which are made up in a flash 🙂 !
Twice is such a good concept! Yum, lunch looks good 🙂
That looks awesome – I love sweet potatoes. And they’re so versatile too, you can cook them in a million different ways. Roasted is my favourite 🙂
Carissa just posted about her Twice experience too! I did a big closet cleanout last weekend and have quite a few things to prospect out to them. Excited to see how it goes!
