As I briefly mentioned before, this year is officially the year of weddings for us. Ryan and I have five weddings to attend (I am in four and he is in one) and the wedding fun officially kicks off this weekend with my friend Laurel’s bachelorette party in Orlando.
I am so, so excited. We have a lot of fun stuff planned for the weekend and I spent most of the day today running around town picking up last-minute supplies for the special day. Tonight will be dedicated to crafting!
Oddly enough, I am just as excited for a low key night with the bride-to-be and the bridal party on Friday night as I am for the craziness that we have on the agenda on Saturday night. I love late nights spent talking away in pajamas and can’t wait to catch up with everyone on Friday and then party it up on Saturday.
Lunch
Since I was way on the other side of town running errands when my stomach started talking to me, I decided to pop into Firehouse Subs for lunch. I still had another errand to run before heading home and knew I wouldn’t get home until after 2 p.m., so a quick sub sounded like a good idea.
I ordered a ham sub on whole wheat with all the veggies but I forgot to ask for them to hold the mayonnaise. Mayo usually grosses me out, but it kind of melted into the provolone cheese and I didn’t notice it too much even though the sub looks mayo-tastic in these photos!
Delish!
Question of the Afternoon
- How would you like to celebrate your bachelorette party?
- If you are married, what was the most memorable thing about your bachelorette party?
Laurel says
Woo first comment! Partay weekend….what are you up tooooooo???? What is happening to me on Saturday????? 1 day and 30 minutes of work til the weekend!
Leah says
I see a lot of tequila in your future. 😉
megan says
congratulations laurel 🙂
Tiff @ Love, Sweat, and Beers says
Woop, Partaaay! I didn’t go too crazy on my bachelorette party. A bunch of friends and I went out on the town, but no destinations or anything too $$$. I know it sounds cheesy, but I really liked this goofy checklist my friend found. It put an extra silly twist on fun times.
Michelle@Peachy Palate says
That is one hell of a lot of weddings to be involved in! You’re like the real life wedding crasher…except of course you’re not crashing! Love that movie!
Fiona @ Get Fit Fiona says
For my bachelorette party I think I’d just like to go out for dinner and then to a pub. I’m not much of a party or club person, so I’d be happy just spending time with my friends.
Brittany says
I’m getting married this May and I absolutely LOVE costumes! So, I’m sure my best friends and bridesmaids will do something associated with some scandalous lingerie. haha. Either way, my bachelorette party should be a fun experience.
Sara says
I definitely want to spend my Bachelorette party away from where I live! It might sound cliche but, there’s nothing that would beat Vegas. Well, except for maybe New Orleans 😉
Linz @ Itz Linz says
Ah my bachelorette party… The memories!! 🙂 🙂 Have so much fun! My best friend’s is in a few weeks!
Sloane @ Life Food and Beer says
I decided to get married where I live in South Florida in November. All my friends and family live in Georgia, and I because of problems with work, I wasn’t able to go home the weekend of my bachelorette party and wedding shower. My new friends and husband got together and planned a last minute shower, though.
I hope you have fun!
Jenn from Much to My Delight says
We definitely had a wave of weddings too–one at age 27, and now again at 34/35 (New Yorkers do it late!). The most memorable part of my bachelorette party was how special my girlfriends made me feel with all their little fun surprises. That, and a bangin’ dinner.
Kristen @ notsodomesticated says
For my “bachelorette party,” we just had a get together at my girl friend’s house. All of my friends bought me a piece of lingerie, and we played games and ate yummy party foods. 😉
Sarah says
We stayed in town for my bachelorette party, but still had a blast! My friends surprised me with a limo. The best part was having all my friends there- the ones I’ve known forever, my college friends, and my cousins. They also played a game where everyone bought a pair of panties and i had to guess who brought each pair– one friend got me these giant granny panties!
Jeanie says
I would like my day to include mimosas at the beach. I am not a huge club type of person, so a nice beach day and a delicious dinner would be enough for me .
Jessica says
My husband and I had a bachelor/bachelorette party at our favorite bar. He is my best friend and I’m am so glad we got to spend that night together.
Emily Mastrantonio says
My friends surprised me with a weekend cruise to the Bahamas! I was blindfolded until we got to the dock! Talk about the best friends ever!
Katie @ Peace Love & Oats says
Hmm I think I would most like a weekend trip of some sort with my friends. I love exploring new cities with friends and the late-night chat sessions in hotel rooms!
Charlotte @ Commitness to Fitness says
Spa weekend! A weekend trip to a spa would be my ideal bachelorette party. One with really good cocktails:)
Kaitlin @4loveofcarrots says
I just got engaged 2 weeks ago and I keep thinking about how I would like to spend my bachelorette party and as long as all my best girlfriends are there, we have a good meal and go out dancing I will have a blast! Definitely do not want any strippers!
Hannah @ CleanEatingVeggieGirl says
Bachelorette parties are just so fun! I have 3 to attend so far this Summer and I am REALLY looking forward to them :).
Kelsie says
Fun!

For my bachelorette I think it would be fun to do one wine night in and then party hardy with brunch and a late night the next night!
Mary says
We’re on the wedding parade this year too! Eight weddings in eighteen months! Two down, six to go…
When I get married I would like to rent a house by the sea and have a proper girlie weekend!
Amy H. @ Run with Perseverance says
My bachelorette party was so much fun! What was so memorable was having most of my closest friends all together and getting along with one another. I have a lot of friends from different aspects of my life (work, college, high school, church, etc.) and everyone was finally all in one place!
Annette@FitnessPerks says
That sounds like such a fun weekend!
I love dancing–so any parties that include dancing are my fave 🙂 My sisters & friends & I had a lot of fun with gifts (and lingerie-duh)! 🙂
Rebeka says
How fun! I’m not sure what I’d want to do for my bachelorette party. Wine tasting and bar hopping weekend with my besties, maybe?
Victoria @ Reluctantly Skinny says
mayo grosses me out too! i really want a NYC bachelorette party – not too crazy, but a nice night of dinner and drinks where I can dress up!!
Laura @ RunningJunkie123 says
I think I’d like a low-key night. I am not too much of a club person…..and I don’t like liquor. I’m boring. haha.
Have a great time!!
Tamara says
My dream bachelorette party would be a weekend in Orlando … Disneyworld and COWBOYS!! Two of my most favorite places hahaha
Miranda @ Miranda Runs says
I think it would be tons of fun to take my bridesmaids and go to a pole dancing class. Haha! 😉
Sara says
I loved my bachelorette party. So rare to get that many girls together for a girls only weekend. I also had two male strippers which was an interesting experience. So gross but we all laughed a lot during it!
Sarah says
We went to karaoke and then a couple of bars. Was home by 11 pm- party animal I am not.
Andrea @Pencils and Pancakes says
For my bachelorette we’re going on a wine tour then camping out! I love camping!
Kristin says
Sounds like you are going to have a blast this weekend! Enjoy it!!
Erin @ Girl Gone Veggie says
I’m so excited for you and the bride-to-be this weekend! Josh just had his bachelor party this past weekend (there was a strip club involved ;p). For mine I’m bar hopping with some of my best girlfriends around DC next month. I’m so excited. I told them all I really care about is getting to see them, having a cute sash to wear, and a fun to-do list!
Amber K says
The most memorable moment of mine was realizing that pretty much everyone there was already married or in a serious relationship. Everyone left early because they had to “take care of” their men. Lame! My best friend and I ended up lighting up the town into the wee hours of the night on our own!
Becky says
I must say, this is a great year to get married, since I am getting married this year. 🙂 I get married in just under two months and I can’t wait! I am not sure what I want to do for my bachelorette party; I just know I want it to be fun! My maid of honor said she has something planned and it is a surprise, so I am super excited! She knows me so well and I know that I will love whatever we do!
Lauren says
The consistency and smell of mayonnaise makes me sick now. I don’t know if it’s just… because of how it looks (Oops, dirty mind) or what but I just can’t eat it like I used to as a kid!
Makenzie says
Omg. BachElorette party. I’ve never even thought about it. I would love to go dancing with all of my best girlfriends and have a giant sleepover in a fancy hotel or a super cozy cabin where we have a lot of chocolate and fun drinks and oh man. Simone propose to me now 😉 hahah have fun Julie!
Maureen says
Hey Julie! I did a whole post on what to wear to weddings! I’d love for you to check it out. http://www.sheismoments.com/2013/04/wedding-wardrobe-tips-and-tricks.html
It’s so fun when your friends start getting married but really stressful when it’s all at once! 🙂
Claire says
What a fun weekend! As an unmarried lady, I have thought/planned my future wedding, but for some reason, never the bachelorette party. Maybe I will get some ideas from your weekend! 🙂
Jelena@FabLifePhD says
My best friend is getting married in June, and I am planing a bachelorette party for the June 1st. I am all in crafting and organizing, since the party is in Serbia. The most interesting and labor requiring part is “An album of girlhood” (I will make sure to blog about it once the bride saw it). In general, we’ll do some games and sing star at home and then go to the club/bar on the river after midnight
Diana says
We spent my bachelorette party at Epcot “drinking around the world” We had a blast!!
Tara | Treble in the Kitchen says
Have so much fun this weekend! I am celebrating my bachelorette party in June, and I have no idea what to expect, but my sister is in charge so I know it will be great! 🙂
Bethany says
Uh, seeing that firehouse subs makes me jealous. We really need some in Illinois. When I would travel to Pensacola for softball we ALWAYS stopped there. So good!
Sara @ sarasmiles says
A family member of mine owns a place in Sonoma Valley, CA, and my friends and I have already said that is where we want to go (keep in mind I don’t even have a boyfriend!). I would love to just hang out with them, visit wineries and shop in the square in the center of town. With all of my friends who have gotten married, we have yet to go to a city and party it up; we’ve just gone to a beach house and chilled (and drank) with ourselves
Brittany says
First, Firehouse Subs are my favorite! I crave them now that I’m back in a city that doesn’t have any.
My bachelorette party was in July of this past year. My best friends and sister-in-laws to be threw me a dinner party at a local Irish pub that was amazing. We went out partying afterwards and just had a crazy awesome time. Something I definitely won’t forget though is the scrapbook that they made me. Each girl created a few pages in the book with their favorite moments of our friendship. I cried as I flipped through and remembered exactly why these girls are my closest friends.
Cathryn says
I’m getting married in October and I chose Nashville, TN for my bachelorette. I am so excited to ditch the heels and wear my cowboy boots all weekend! I love country music and bourbon so I thought Nashville would be the perfect place 🙂
Allie says
Firehouse Subs are my FAVORITE!! Whenever I’m in florida, they’re my only requirement. so addicting!
Natalie @ Free Range Human says
I’m not much of a party person so my bachelorette night was pretty low-key. I spent a lot of time hanging out with some of my favorite girls. Just the way I like it!
Heather @ Run Eat Play says
I forgot to bring my keys with me for my bachelorette party and had to call my hubby at his bachelor party to come home and unlock the door for us girls. On top of it, it was freezing out, we had been drinking, and the party bus driver just left us! It was a crazy night but we laugh about it now!
Lauren @ Berry Sweet Lauren says
My wedding is next year so I’ve been thinking about what I want to do for my bachelorette party and I just don’t know!? I generally prefer more low-key nights, at least compared to those of my college days, but I feel like it needs to be a little crazy since you only have one bach party!
