This blog post is part of my Weekly Workouts series where I share a glimpse into what one week of workouts looks like every month. It’s my updated way of throwing it back to the early days of PBF when I’d share my workouts with you guys every single day and serves to show what workouts are looking like around here lately. If you’re into reading about driveway workouts, rest days and boot camp sessions, keep on scrollin’!

Monday: Super Short Lower Body Strength + 12-Minute Post-Workout Yoga Flow (Video)
I kicked off Monday’s workout with a short lower body strength workout that included three rounds of 15 reps of heavy dumbbell hip thrusters, hamstring curls and squats. It was a super fast and I flew through it and it made me all the more excited for a solid stretch session + yoga flow once I was done. I opted for my friend Jen’s 12-Minute Post-Workout Yoga flow and loved the way it incorporated stretches for my hamstrings and back as well as hip openers I desperately needed.

Tuesday: Driveway Biceps, Triceps + Shoulders Workout
On Tuesday morning, the boys were all up before 6:30 a.m. We didn’t have to leave the house for Chase’s summer camp drop off until right around 8:30 a.m. With 2.5 hours to spare from when the boys were up to the time we had to leave the house, I had plenty of time to sneak in a workout while the kids played in the yard. When I’m working out at home when the boys are awake, I prefer to complete more traditional strength workouts since they allow me to take breaks between sets to tend to whatever the boys need. I stuck with a basic arm workout (the PBF throwback workout above!) and even though I had to stop numerous times for various kid-related things, it felt good to sweat a little bit going into the day.

Wednesday: Off
No workout for me on Wednesday outside of swimming at the pool with the boys!

Thursday: Burn Boot Camp Push/Pull Workout
Thursday’s workout looked like a Burn Boot Camp push/pull workout that focused primarily on training our back, shoulders and chest. I forgot to write down the workout after I was done and when I went back to try to remember as I was typing up this blog post, my memory failed me but the above workout is a past BBC push/pull workout I’ve shared that was very, very similar. Push/pull days are some of my favorites at Burn Boot Camp because they are challenging but also make me feel strong!

Friday: Burn Boot Camp Leg Day Workout
On Friday morning, before Chase’s camp drop off, I took the boys with me to boot camp for a lower body workout. The workout included three sets of supersets and we went through two rounds of each superset before moving onto the next. We then completed each superset again for a total of two rounds. I wasn’t overly in the mood for a leg workout on Friday so I’ll admit I didn’t push myself quite as much as I could have in this one.

Saturday + Sunday: Off
As usual, I took the weekend off from traditional workouts and just kept things active with MOVING prep. The vast majority of our weekend was dedicated to packing boxes and that felt plenty active to me!
Question of the Day
What was your favorite workout of the week last week?
Vera says
Congratulations on your new house! So exciting!!!
Where are you going to be living until the new house is done?
Julie says
Thank you! We are going to stay in a VRBO in FL for a month and then rent in our same area in NC until the house is ready in the late fall (hopefully)!

Sounds like quite an adventure!
Looking forward to hearing all about it!
Can’t wait to see your new house when it’s done!
