As for today, I’m popping in with a glimpse into last week’s workouts as part of the Week of Workouts series I share on the blog once a month. Last week’s workouts were a little different than usual as we were still in Florida for part of the week. I did my best to move my body during our time away from home and enjoyed changing up my workouts to include BodyPump since it’s not a workout I have access to all the time. Let’s dive in!
Week of Workouts: June 2024
-
Monday: BodyPump
I wanted to squeeze in one last BodyPump workout while I had access to my sister’s gym during our time in Florida. The class is all kinds of nostalgic for me as I took it several times a week for years during my 20s. It’s a fantastic total body workout and passes by so, so fast, as you’re spending one song completely fatiguing a specific muscle group. It will forever and always be one of my favorite group exercise classes.

Tuesday: Off
No workout for me on Tuesday! We were still in Florida and I just wanted to spend the day with family.
-
Wednesday: 30 Minute Leg Workout (Caroline Girvan YouTube)
On Wednesday morning, I woke up early enough to squeeze in a quick workout before breakfast. I wanted to get a little movement in before I drove back to Florida with the boys. (Ryan was in NYC so it was a solo drive for me and the kids.) I did a 30-minute leg workout I found on YouTube from Caroline Girvan, one of my favorite YouTube fitness instructors. It was a quick but brutal workout and I was sore for days after this one!

Thursday: Burn Boot Camp Core Conditioning Workout
I was thrilled to have Burn Boot Camp back in my life once we returned to North Carolina! Time away from Burn always means the next boot camp workout I do will kick my booty and this one was no different. It smoked my core but also incorporated some cardio that got my heartrate way up.

Friday: Burn Boot Camp Total Body Strength Workout
On Friday morning, the boys joined me at Burn Boot Camp and had fun in child watch while I completed a total body strength workout. I love it when Burn formats their workouts in a way that lets you completely move on from an exercise after a period of time (versus cycling back through it circuit-style) so Friday’s workout was right up my alley.
-
Saturday: Off
Saturday was a fun and full day but an off day from the gym!
-
Sunday: 3 Mile Hike + 20 Minute Bike Ride
Sunday was an off day from any gym or at-home workouts but we were still rather active as a family! We hiked three miles on some local trails and also biked to and from our neighborhood pool where we swam around together for a few hours. My favorite kind of exercise is outside movement with family so this was right up my alley!
Questions of the Day
Is your exercise routine changing at all as we enter the summer months? What does your workout routine look like these days?

Given that it is currently the temperature of the sun outside here in deep southern Canada, all workouts happen in the bedroom in front of the a/c unit and are mostly isometric because if I sweat any more I might die. 110 with humidity factored in and I don’t need any moisture in my life … imagine a hot flash when it is THAT HOT?!?!?!?!
Ryder is SIX????? Time flies…….oooh maybe THAT will aim a breeze at me.

I love this series! I do Lagree at a local studio and have a Peloton Bike+ at home. I’ve been doing Emma Lovewell’s Crush Your Core 2 program on Peloton. Have you tried Lagree?

I’m obsessed with Caroline Girvan! I’ve completed her Iron series and finishing up her Fuel series this week. Perhaps you could do a review of at home workout programs – I’m always on the hunt!
