Wicked Good Pandora Station

March 3, 2011 by Julie 53 Comments

Once I graduated college and entered the working world, I found myself working as the public relations and marketing assistant at the Orlando Museum of Art. For the most part, my job was a desk job and had me working in my little office space from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Though I really enjoyed certain aspects of my job like writing museum magazine content and press releases, I also found myself handling mundane tasks like fulfilling donation requests and filing news clippings.

When I worked on the more monotonous duties, I found entertainment in jamming out to music. The day I discovered Pandora, a fantastic internet radio station, I felt like I hit the jackpot!

I now listen to Pandora regularly and find myself falling in love with new “stations.”

Well, early last week, I stumbled upon the Wicked station that pulls music from the musical Wicked (which I saw last February and loved!)  and a variety of upbeat musicals (think Mama Mia!) as well as Disney songs.

Pandora Jams

Is it girly? Yes.  Corny? Yes. Fantastic? YES.

If you love musicals and happy, bubbly music, you will love it. It’s definitely a great way to break up a long workday.

Lunch

I enjoyed today’s lunch while jammin’ to songs from the Mary Poppins musical(Chim chim cher-ee!). I actually saw the Mary Poppins musical last May with my mom and sister so I really enjoying hearing some of the songs again as I ate.

Tuna Salad Plate

Lunch included a tuna salad wrap with cucumber slices.

Tuna Salad

Wrapped Up

Tuna salad may be one of my all-time favorite lunches. Kitty chow is good. 🙂

Before signing off, I want to thank those of you who bid on goodies through Katie’s bake sale benefiting her service trip to Nicaragua. You’re awesome and I know Katie is so grateful for your support. Whoever wins my flourless chocolate oatmeal cookies can expect a fun lil’ package! I like playing Santa.

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

YES! Great Pandora station. You get similar results if you put in a “Glee” station 🙂

I am listening to pandora now! Phoenix station. I will have to check that one out.

I have been eating a LOT of tuna lately. I make my tuna salad with Greek yogurt and pickles and celery. Love that crunch the celery adds. Yours looks good!

I’m all about the Phoenix station, too! Perfect work beats! For similar jams – and if it starts going downhill – I’ll flip to the Empire of the Sun station.

I listen to the Beauty and the Beast station which has exactly the same! I love it! Such great work music. I smile and hum (softly haha) the entire time I listen in my cube.

I had tuna today also, so yummy and fulfilling.

    Have a great day,

I’m pretty sure Pandora is what got me through college my last two years! I wish I could like tuna, because it always looks so tasty. The smell gets me every time though. My mom would always feed our cats tuna and now it always = cat food in my mind.

First of all, I got wicked excited for a second because I thought you were using the New England “wicked” purely as an adjective meaning awesome, not as a pun for the musical! (Although I do love Wicked the Musical, too!).

Pandora has been saving me ALL WEEK, today in particular, because I’m working on inserting references into a massive document. I’ve been jamming to the Kenny Chesney channel this go-round, but the “Baby One More Time” channel might be my absolute favorite — and we’re talking EVER.

Wicked was an amazing musical! Although I’m still bummed that I missed getting to see the last song before the intermission. I thought I would be smart and hit the bathroom before the rest of the audience. But they wouldn’t let me back in until the intermission so I wouldn’t “disturb” anyone. I certainly didn’t disturb anyone leaving, so why would I disturb anyone coming back? Still irked!
