I love the inexpensive date ideas you guys added to my morning post.
Here are some more fun ones:
- Liz: “I’m surprising my boyfriend tonight with an indoor picnic, complete with food that I have a Groupon for!”
- Jill Bond: “Our local surf shop has cheap paddle board and kayak rentals. We stop at Whole Foods, pack a snack, put in a dry bag, and paddle to a quiet spot for dinner.”
- Kelsey: “One of my favorite date nights is when my husband and I do our own version of the Food Network show Chopped. I usually make the main dish and he takes the appetizer. We each pick 4 ingredients for the other person, then they can use anything at home. So fun!”
- Celina: “The weekends that we do get to spend alone together are normally spent working on our home or we spend them at local flea markets (Lafayette, LA). We love turning trash into treasure. I love our little hobby together! Plus, it’s tons of walking and we always enjoy lunch somewhere super cute.”
- Jamie: “Another thing we enjoy is just leashing up the dog, driving to a nearby town and just walking around and sharing a sweet treat from one of the little shops.”
- Melissa: “I think some great dates would be: fruit picking (i.e. apple, blueberry, strawberry, peach) and/or wine tasting!”
Workout + Lunch
Today’s workout was a good one! I headed to the gym for my favorite Wednesday morning boot camp class and made sure to warm up for a little bit on the elliptical before jumping around and sweating like crazy. Boot camp flew by and definitely got my heart rate up. That’s all I ask!
After boot camp, I quickly showered and then worked through the morning before it was time to head home for a late lunch.
I reheated leftovers from last night’s dinner which kept things simple. On the menu for today was a sweet potato paired with lean turkey, red pepper, onions, chopped bacon, salt, pepper and goat cheese.
The goat cheese melted into the dish and created a somewhat creamy sauce that added a lot of flavor to the meat and vegetables. Loved it!
And now it’s time for a giveaway that I think you guys will enjoy!
You Choose: Reebok Shoe Giveaway
As part of my on-going relationship with Reebok, I feel very fortunate to be able to try out different shoes that the company sends me to review on occasion. I know a bunch of you guys are in the market for new shoes, so this month I approached Reebok about hosting a giveaway that would allow one of you to select whatever pair of shoes you want from their website!
They were instantly game for my giveaway idea, so now it’s time for one of you to win a snazzy new pair of shoes!
Here are some of my personal favorites:
- Nanos (And yes, this giveaway does include the new Nano 3.0s!)
I wear Nanos on days when I know I’ll be doing functional workouts. Avid Cross-Fitters seem to love these shoes and though I don’t do CrossFit, I still love the Nanos because they make me feel a lot more stable when I do certain exercises like lunges, squats or box jumps! I love the way the shoe doesn’t have a lot of cushioning and since the midsole material is a flattened platform, it’s thinner which allows my foot to lay flatter and closer to the ground. If you’ve only ever done functional workouts like CrossFit in traditional running shoes, I’d definitely try a pair of Nanos!
These shoes actually remind me a little bit of the Nanos, but with a little more structural support and cushioning. I love them for boot camp workouts!
These are the newest shoes in my collection and I’ve been wearing them to work nearly every day (as I’m sure you can tell from their well-worn look in the above picture). They’re more cushioned than some of the other Reebok shoes out there and feel comfortable even after hours on my feet. I wear them when I teach certain group exercise classes or during my own workouts that include light running or cardio.
I’ve been wearing my RealFlex Fusions for almost a year now and love the lightweight, supportive feel of the shoe. They’re another shoe I love for workouts that include a lot of variety and some running and plyometric exercises like speed skaters.
Of course if another shoe strikes your fancy on the Reebok website, you can choose a pair that isn’t currently on my radar! It’s totally up to you! (Dancers and Zumba lovers may want to check out the dance shoes on the Reebok website. I cannot pull off the high tops, but if you can, do your thang!)
To enter this giveaway, please leave a comment below, telling me which pair of Reebok shoes you would choose if you won the giveaway. I will randomly select a winner on Friday.
Good luck!
Please note that shoe selection is subject to availability.
I would love to try the realflex or sublites!
I’d love a pair of the RealFlex Fusions for light running and working out!
So cute!
I would pick the Sublite Duo, I LOVE the color!
I would definitely go for the RealFlex Fusion TR. I have been looking for a versatile shoe I can wear for workouts that include a variety of different cardio and strength training moves. Also, I love purple!
Dance UR Lead please! I go to Zumba 4 times a week and my shoes are at least 2 years old (maybe 3, I can’t even remember) so I really need to replace them. I’ve just been too lazy to go to the store and buy them 🙂
I have been eyeing up the new nanos! Love my 2.0s but I am ready for an upgrade.
Realflex fusions! They’re super cute and purple is my fav color 🙂
It’s probably about time for me to swap out my running shoes :-). I adore the ONE cushion… the bright colors really caught my eye.
I like the sublite train, cute colors!
I would choose the Sublite Duo because I do boot camp three times a week that includes random sprints or stairs so having something versatile would be awesome! And I love the bright colors!!!
I’d love to try the CrossFit Nano shoes, I’ve become quite the CrossFit addict lately so shoes specifically for it would be great. I’m pretty intrigued by the Sublite Duo shoes also. Decisions, decisions!
I’ve been swooning over those Nano 3.0s! I hear they have a little more cushion than the 2.0 and I can’t wait to try them out!
I think I’d go with the sublites!
I would love to try the Nanos!! I currently crossfit and need a new pair of cross trainers.
I LOVE the Realflex fusion and would LOVE to own them:-)
Love the nanos! Would love something with more stability for cross training
I would love a pair of nanos! They seem great for functional workouts.
I would love the realflex. Perfect for the Body & Soul Dance Blast class I teach and I LOVE the purple color!!!
I would pick the RealFlex Fusion TR because I have been dying to try a lightweight shoe for the bootcamp workouts at the gym!
I’d love to try the sublite duo or reflex!
I would love to try the SubLite Duos!
Oooo I need some new shoes! I’d choose the Real Flex fusion.
I would love to try out the Nanos. Just found out I’m pregnant and this would keep me in the gym throughout the pregnancy. The first pregnancy did not go so well because I did not go to the gym and ate horrible. These shoes would be the perfect motivation and promise to keep up the workouts this time around 🙂 Pinky swear!
I love the nanos and the sublites! I’ve been running for years and feel pretty comfortable picking out running shoes, but I never know what kind of shoes to wear for strength training- those look like great choices:)
I would love to try the Nanos!
I would choose the new nano 3.0 I have read so much about them and am in need of new shoes!!
I would pick the nanos! I just recently picked up cross fit and I’d love a shoe with stability (and good looks too)!
I love the RealFlex!! I’ve been wanting bright workout shoes so badly!!!
I would love to try the reebok DMXsky shoes!! They seem light and comfortable for running, but unfortunately are so expensive!!
I love the Sublite Duo and love the bright colors!
I would choose the SubLite Duos.
The RealFlex Fusion TR’s are perfect!
I’m dying to try the nano 3.0s! I have the 2.0 and love them!
Realflex fusions 🙂
Sublite duos! Such cute colors.
I love the Nanos! I’m actually in the market for a new pair of gym shoes. Thanks Julie!
I love them all, but I would have to go with the Sublite Duo. I’m new to working out, and still feel like I need some good cushion support on my shoes. And I love the colors!
I would try the smooth flex 2.0!
I would definitely chose the nanos. I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled for a good pair of cross training shoes so I can stop putting miles on my running shoes. I love the colors!
Just started CrossFit so I’d definitely have to go with the Nanos!
I would love to have a pair of the “OUTDOOR WILD” in Red/neon orange/ironstone!!! These are fierce and comfortable. I tried them on and I would LOVE to own a pair. Being a mom who is a personal trainer by passion and always on the move (without choice) I think these beauts would be the perfect fit for my lifestyle!! It is so nice knowing that you can have not only a well fitted, comfortable shoe–but a sassy, funky fresh pair to boot!! (no pun intended)
I would love the SubLite Train shoes! You inspired me to start taking a BodyPump class at my gym and I’d really like to wear something other than my running shoes 🙂
The SubLite Train 1.0 looks so comfy and are super cute!!
PB, I’d love a pair of the Reebok Speeds! I’ve been dying to get some new crossfit sneaks, especially since my old running sneakers have gotten a bit “holey”!
I love the Nano’s!!! They would be perfect for the work out class 🙂
I’ve been wearing nano’s for my crossfit workouts, but I would love to try the sublite’s too!
The SubLite Train 1.0 sound like a good fit! I need som good cross trainers!!!
I would pick the Nanos! I know I shouldn’t be wearing my running shoes for weightlifting, but I’ve been too lazy to go get different shoes 🙂
I have been contemplating the Nanos for a while and would the opportunity to try them out. I do a lot of functional training and from what I’ve read/heard these are the shoes to try. Having slight issues with one of my knees, therefore hoping these shoes might provide a little relief by way of positioning. Thanks!!!!!
I’ve been seriously considering getting some Reebok shoes recently, since a good freind of mine has been training in them and LOVES them. I’ve been a toe shoe gal, but sometimes I need a little more support. I am DYING over the SubLite Train’s – especially for my boot camp classes. Fingers Crossed!!!!!
