I love the inexpensive date ideas you guys added to my morning post.
Here are some more fun ones:
- Liz: “I’m surprising my boyfriend tonight with an indoor picnic, complete with food that I have a Groupon for!”
- Jill Bond: “Our local surf shop has cheap paddle board and kayak rentals. We stop at Whole Foods, pack a snack, put in a dry bag, and paddle to a quiet spot for dinner.”
- Kelsey: “One of my favorite date nights is when my husband and I do our own version of the Food Network show Chopped. I usually make the main dish and he takes the appetizer. We each pick 4 ingredients for the other person, then they can use anything at home. So fun!”
- Celina: “The weekends that we do get to spend alone together are normally spent working on our home or we spend them at local flea markets (Lafayette, LA). We love turning trash into treasure. I love our little hobby together! Plus, it’s tons of walking and we always enjoy lunch somewhere super cute.”
- Jamie: “Another thing we enjoy is just leashing up the dog, driving to a nearby town and just walking around and sharing a sweet treat from one of the little shops.”
- Melissa: “I think some great dates would be: fruit picking (i.e. apple, blueberry, strawberry, peach) and/or wine tasting!”
Workout + Lunch
Today’s workout was a good one! I headed to the gym for my favorite Wednesday morning boot camp class and made sure to warm up for a little bit on the elliptical before jumping around and sweating like crazy. Boot camp flew by and definitely got my heart rate up. That’s all I ask!
After boot camp, I quickly showered and then worked through the morning before it was time to head home for a late lunch.
I reheated leftovers from last night’s dinner which kept things simple. On the menu for today was a sweet potato paired with lean turkey, red pepper, onions, chopped bacon, salt, pepper and goat cheese.
The goat cheese melted into the dish and created a somewhat creamy sauce that added a lot of flavor to the meat and vegetables. Loved it!
And now it’s time for a giveaway that I think you guys will enjoy!
You Choose: Reebok Shoe Giveaway
As part of my on-going relationship with Reebok, I feel very fortunate to be able to try out different shoes that the company sends me to review on occasion. I know a bunch of you guys are in the market for new shoes, so this month I approached Reebok about hosting a giveaway that would allow one of you to select whatever pair of shoes you want from their website!
They were instantly game for my giveaway idea, so now it’s time for one of you to win a snazzy new pair of shoes!
Here are some of my personal favorites:
- Nanos (And yes, this giveaway does include the new Nano 3.0s!)
I wear Nanos on days when I know I’ll be doing functional workouts. Avid Cross-Fitters seem to love these shoes and though I don’t do CrossFit, I still love the Nanos because they make me feel a lot more stable when I do certain exercises like lunges, squats or box jumps! I love the way the shoe doesn’t have a lot of cushioning and since the midsole material is a flattened platform, it’s thinner which allows my foot to lay flatter and closer to the ground. If you’ve only ever done functional workouts like CrossFit in traditional running shoes, I’d definitely try a pair of Nanos!
These shoes actually remind me a little bit of the Nanos, but with a little more structural support and cushioning. I love them for boot camp workouts!
These are the newest shoes in my collection and I’ve been wearing them to work nearly every day (as I’m sure you can tell from their well-worn look in the above picture). They’re more cushioned than some of the other Reebok shoes out there and feel comfortable even after hours on my feet. I wear them when I teach certain group exercise classes or during my own workouts that include light running or cardio.
I’ve been wearing my RealFlex Fusions for almost a year now and love the lightweight, supportive feel of the shoe. They’re another shoe I love for workouts that include a lot of variety and some running and plyometric exercises like speed skaters.
Of course if another shoe strikes your fancy on the Reebok website, you can choose a pair that isn’t currently on my radar! It’s totally up to you! (Dancers and Zumba lovers may want to check out the dance shoes on the Reebok website. I cannot pull off the high tops, but if you can, do your thang!)
To enter this giveaway, please leave a comment below, telling me which pair of Reebok shoes you would choose if you won the giveaway. I will randomly select a winner on Friday.
Good luck!
Please note that shoe selection is subject to availability.
I would love to try the real flex TR shoes! I have been doing the insanity workout series and classes more frequently, and using my running shoes has been a little uncomfortable. A good shoe for more pylometric exercises would be great!
I would totally pick those purple nanos! So cute!
I love the Sublite Duo! Super cute!
i hope you have a wonderful date night!
oh goodness girl, do i need me some new shoes! I am loving those Nanos! Although honestly, I would be happy with any of them! I love Reebok!!
I would love the Sublite Duos!! 🙂
I think I would like the SubLite Train 1.0s. I’ve just started working out on a regular basis and my running sneakers just aren’t cutting it!
I would love a pair of RealFlex Fusions!! I just started doing bootcamps and they seem to be a perfect match for what I need.
One of each please! But just choosing one …Sublite it would be!
I would LOVE the new Nanos. I have been going to Crossfit for a little over 3 months now and would love to get a pair. As a recent college grad and new school teacher, I simply can’t afford to buy a pair at the moment. Crossing my fingers!!!! 🙂
Aw, thanks so much for the shout out! I want the RealFlex ones!
LOVE the sublet duo!! Would definitely pick these for the gym and to help moving into my new apartment with the boyfriend!
Also in the market for new running shoes!! Would probably try one of the “Zig” types or the Reebok ONE Cushion.
I would try the Sublite Duos! I love the neon, and they are lightweight and mesh!
Sublite Duos! =]
I just love your site! So inspiring for healthy living. 🙂 The RealFlex Fusions are my favorite, loving the neon colors and they look extremely comfortable.
I would love a good functional shoe!
I have been eyeballing those Nanos for awhile!
I already use the Realflex Fusion TR and they are great! Would love to get a pair of the Nanos for Crossfit!
I like the real flex fusions. The purple is great!
Definitely the Nanos! I currently have the NB Minimus but have heard so many good things about the Nanos for Crossfit. I’d love to try those babies out!
The Nanos! I’ve been wanting to try them out for a while!
Sublite Train 1.0
They are adorable and I need a good shoe that I can use for a variety of workouts.
I would love a pair of the RealFlex Fusion TR. My workouts usually include a lot of variety and these shoes sound perfect for me.
I would love the sublite duo!! 🙂
I need new real flex shoes!! I’ve had mine for almost 2 years and wear them just about every day. They’re awesome!
I would love to try out the real flex TR shoes!
Love love love the Sublite Duo’s! I have the RealFlex Fusions I use for cross training, but I need something with a bit more cushion for treadmill workouts and running outside!
I’d love to try the RealFlex Fusion. I hear so many great things about them!
I love the sublite duo’s! They are so neon & cute!
I would love the Nanos!!!! I am a crossfit fanatic, and I have convinced myself that the Nanos would help increase my performance. Plus the colors are super cute too!!
I would love to try the nanos for crossfit!
I just had my first baby with an unexpected C section and need some motivation as I just started to hit the gym again and it’s so much more of a challenge than I have ever experienced before. I love bright shoes and I do a lot of cardio, classes and some running I like the Sublite Duo. Love your blogs and recipes 🙂
One of the SubLite pairs
I would try the sublite duos!
I’ve been wanting to get the Reebook Nanos for over 2 months now but haven’t been able to afford them. If I were chosen, I would definitely love the Nanos! 🙂
I would love the nanos!
I’d go for the Sublite Train 1.0!
I would love the Nanos!! I need a pair of shoes for my workouts that aren’t running. They are super cute too!
I think I like the RealFlex Fusion TR. Thank you!
The Sublite Duo would be great. I have a back injury and was recently told I have stop running, and have therefore started power walking. Running shoes feel awkward for walks, it would be great to have some extra stability and support for walking.
I love the sublite duos! I’ve been doing a lot of Zumba lately and need a new shoe that can keep up with the different moves!
Sublite Train 1.0s!
Reeboks, Nanos, Sublites….all great shoes. Love the comfort and the colors. Thanks for setting up a free Reebok give away!
Ahhh, so tough to choose just one! I need new shoes for lifting but I’m also close to needing new running shoes! I would love to try the Nanos to see how much better they are than my current shoes I wear for lifting!
I’m a crossfitter so I would LOVE the Nano 3.0s!!
The nano’s!! I love crossfit/functional type workouts and have never had the opportunity to try a pair of shoes that are made specifically for that. I usually just use my running shoes for those workouts!
I would totally pick the “Sublite Duo’s” I am JUST getting over a stress fracture in my foot and I am released to start running again… And I am soooo needing comfy shoes I can run in and still wear out and about and can walk after I take them off! Thanks girl!!
I would love the RealFlex Fusions. I do a variety of workouts including group exercise classes, bootcamps, circuit/interval training and running. I think these shoes would be great for all of these exercises. I am looking for something lightweight yet still gives the support I need.
During my circuit workout this morning I was cursing my beat up Nikes. We made a good team for a year but sadly…it’s time to let them go! They look pathetic and have zero support. The Nanos would be great for circuit workouts like today!
I would love the Sublite Train 1.0 for my bootcamp workouts!
