I love the inexpensive date ideas you guys added to my morning post.
Here are some more fun ones:
- Liz: “I’m surprising my boyfriend tonight with an indoor picnic, complete with food that I have a Groupon for!”
- Jill Bond: “Our local surf shop has cheap paddle board and kayak rentals. We stop at Whole Foods, pack a snack, put in a dry bag, and paddle to a quiet spot for dinner.”
- Kelsey: “One of my favorite date nights is when my husband and I do our own version of the Food Network show Chopped. I usually make the main dish and he takes the appetizer. We each pick 4 ingredients for the other person, then they can use anything at home. So fun!”
- Celina: “The weekends that we do get to spend alone together are normally spent working on our home or we spend them at local flea markets (Lafayette, LA). We love turning trash into treasure. I love our little hobby together! Plus, it’s tons of walking and we always enjoy lunch somewhere super cute.”
- Jamie: “Another thing we enjoy is just leashing up the dog, driving to a nearby town and just walking around and sharing a sweet treat from one of the little shops.”
- Melissa: “I think some great dates would be: fruit picking (i.e. apple, blueberry, strawberry, peach) and/or wine tasting!”
Workout + Lunch
Today’s workout was a good one! I headed to the gym for my favorite Wednesday morning boot camp class and made sure to warm up for a little bit on the elliptical before jumping around and sweating like crazy. Boot camp flew by and definitely got my heart rate up. That’s all I ask!
After boot camp, I quickly showered and then worked through the morning before it was time to head home for a late lunch.
I reheated leftovers from last night’s dinner which kept things simple. On the menu for today was a sweet potato paired with lean turkey, red pepper, onions, chopped bacon, salt, pepper and goat cheese.
The goat cheese melted into the dish and created a somewhat creamy sauce that added a lot of flavor to the meat and vegetables. Loved it!
And now it’s time for a giveaway that I think you guys will enjoy!
You Choose: Reebok Shoe Giveaway
As part of my on-going relationship with Reebok, I feel very fortunate to be able to try out different shoes that the company sends me to review on occasion. I know a bunch of you guys are in the market for new shoes, so this month I approached Reebok about hosting a giveaway that would allow one of you to select whatever pair of shoes you want from their website!
They were instantly game for my giveaway idea, so now it’s time for one of you to win a snazzy new pair of shoes!
Here are some of my personal favorites:
- Nanos (And yes, this giveaway does include the new Nano 3.0s!)
I wear Nanos on days when I know I’ll be doing functional workouts. Avid Cross-Fitters seem to love these shoes and though I don’t do CrossFit, I still love the Nanos because they make me feel a lot more stable when I do certain exercises like lunges, squats or box jumps! I love the way the shoe doesn’t have a lot of cushioning and since the midsole material is a flattened platform, it’s thinner which allows my foot to lay flatter and closer to the ground. If you’ve only ever done functional workouts like CrossFit in traditional running shoes, I’d definitely try a pair of Nanos!
These shoes actually remind me a little bit of the Nanos, but with a little more structural support and cushioning. I love them for boot camp workouts!
These are the newest shoes in my collection and I’ve been wearing them to work nearly every day (as I’m sure you can tell from their well-worn look in the above picture). They’re more cushioned than some of the other Reebok shoes out there and feel comfortable even after hours on my feet. I wear them when I teach certain group exercise classes or during my own workouts that include light running or cardio.
I’ve been wearing my RealFlex Fusions for almost a year now and love the lightweight, supportive feel of the shoe. They’re another shoe I love for workouts that include a lot of variety and some running and plyometric exercises like speed skaters.
Of course if another shoe strikes your fancy on the Reebok website, you can choose a pair that isn’t currently on my radar! It’s totally up to you! (Dancers and Zumba lovers may want to check out the dance shoes on the Reebok website. I cannot pull off the high tops, but if you can, do your thang!)
To enter this giveaway, please leave a comment below, telling me which pair of Reebok shoes you would choose if you won the giveaway. I will randomly select a winner on Friday.
Good luck!
Please note that shoe selection is subject to availability.
I’d like either the Sublite Train or the RealFlex Fusion TR, since a lot of my workouts include a lot of variety. It sometimes feels a little weird wearing my running shoes to bootcamp class, and I feel like either of these would be a great solution.
Without looking at any others, I’m sold on the Reflex Fusion TR design and colors!
I love the realflex for short runs
I would definitely go for the realflex fusion!
*realflex!
I would pick the RealFlex Fusion TR pair, love them!
Definitely the Nanos! I’m a runner and am currently training for my first full marathon (Chicago!) but I’ve recently incorporated 2 days a week of crossfit and I don’t have any shoes! The Nanos would be perfect!
Woo Hoo! I’d definitely choose either the Sublite Train or the Sublite duo. I am looking for a shoe that allows me to do some plyometric and functional workouts. I’ve been doing a lot more dynamic strength training and can tell that my running shoes just aren’t cutting it. These would be perfect for the stability I need.
Oh Boy do I need those Nanos! I’ve been dying for better stability over the last few months.
I would go with Sublite Duo. I love a versatile workout shoe so I don’t have to put much thought into which pair to wear.
I would love a pair of the new Nanos:)
I would definitely pick the Nano 3. I have yet to jump on the Reebok bandwagon because I am a tried and true Mizuno fan and cannot seem to convince myself to try something new. But I think these would be great for the gym and weight training! Would love to have a pair!
I love the sublite duo shoes!
I’m liking the sound of those nanos
I love the SubLite Train 1.0 ones!
Ahhh to hard to pick one! They all seem so versitle and great for my workouts!
My favorite color is purple so I would LOVE either pair! Nanos or Flex are both SCHWEEEET! 🙂
I would choose the sublite train 1.0 (:
I think I’d like to try the nanos!
I would love to try the nanos!
The RealFlex Fusions look great! I’d love to try them out for running.
I was actually planning on starting crossfit in the near future to keep in shape, and the Reebok Nanos would be the final push to get started!
Sublite Duo!
I love the new Nanos. I am dying to get a pair!!!
I think the sublite duo
I would love a pair of nanos! I’ve heard so many good things about them.
I would love to try the new Nanos!
I like the Nanos!!!
I’d love the reebok one cushion!
I want the Sublite Duos!
Ohh tough! I want a sturdy but lightweight running shoe… Something more for short distances!
I think I’d like the real flex. I’m just getting into running but still do a variety of other workouts. They seem like a good all around sneaker
I would love to try the sublime train 1.0! Especially in that bright yellow color you are wearing! LOVE
The sublight duos look awesome! And they’re such fun colors
I would love to try the SubLite Train 1.0 series. They would be perfect for my gym/circuit workouts, and the colours are too cute!
I like the SubLite Train 1.0!
I would LOVE the Sublite Duo pair! I have recently developed plantar fasciitis and I try to always keep my shoes fresh- BUT that has proved to be difficult financially. I teach a Turbokick class and I think that these would be absolutely perfect 🙂 Thanks!
I would pick the RealFlex Fusions.
RealFlex Fusion TR!!!!
Sublite train 1.0 – they are perfect for my boot camp/ cross training classes and come in awesome colors!
I love the nanos! My workouts are all over the place, so they sound like they would be good for all my different activities.
I would love the sublite train 1.0 shoes!! I did my first obstacle 5k in June at age 37 much to my kids saying no way as I was NEVER a runner!! I did it and have been doing boot camp classes for a couple of months at my gym so I would love to have these for the gym especially bootcamp so I don’t have to wear my $$ running shoes!! 🙂
I would choose the Nanos or RealFlex Fusions!
I’m so guilty of wearing running shoes for every workout. I’d love to try the Sublit Train 1.0 shoes! Thanks for the opportunity.
I would have to choose the RealFlex Fusion TR!
I love the Reebok One Guides or the Realflex Strength TRs. I work long shifts in the hospital with minimal sitting so comfy shoes are a must!
Sublite Duo or RealFlex Train for me! I do a lot of running, as well as CrossFit, so I need some shoes that I could adapt for either if necessary…. but more importantly, some to rotate with my current go-to pair of running shoes, which are on their last legs! 🙂
The Sublite Duos look awesome. I’ve see you rock them in some of your pictures and I have been envying them. They’re cute yet supportive it seems like!
I would choose the sublite train – boot camp workouts are my favorite!
I like the Nanos!
