PBFingers.com!!!

July 21, 2010 by Julie 51 Comments

Lunch today was a PBF staple.

Ahhh yes, my beloved noodle bowl.

Nuts for Noodles!

Noodle Fun

  • Carba Nada basil fettuccine pasta (12 grams of protein per serving!)
  • Barilla mushroom and garlic pasta sauce
  • Steamed broccoli

As usual I beefed up my pasta bowl with steamed broccoli to get that extra volume I love.

With the Broc

I am definitely a “volume eater.”

I like to consume large quantities of food at my meals, so incorporating healthy, low calorie foods like vegetables into my meals allows me to eat a lot without causing weight gain. Two cups of broccoli has approximately 60 calories while two teeny Double Stuf Oreos have 140 calories. Which will fill you up more? (Yes, I am well aware that Oreos taste better than broccoli. Of course you may eat them and still maintain a healthy lifestyle… I’m just usin’ them as a comparison.)

A New Home

If you follow my blog it’s no secret that I am not a blog-savvy person. It took me months to discover Google Reader and now, 10 months after starting the ol’ blog, I finally dropped the “.wordpress.com” from my website address.

(If you’re also not the most blog savvy person, check out this post that I did especially for YOU!)

Better late than never, right?

Welcome to my new home, PBFingers.com!!! 🙂

Welcome Home

Hopefully my new domain name will be easy for you guys to remember! If you have me linked anywhere on your blogs, feel free to update the link with my new web address (and THANK YOU!).

Also, I have to say a special thank you to Courtney, Lisa and Meghann for helping me figure out how to make the switch via Twitter! You guys are the best! 😀

Question of the Afternoon

Are you a volume eater? What low calorie food is your favorite to fill up on?

I love filling up on veggies that I make into “fries” like rutabaga fries or turnip fries. Yum!

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I’m definitely a volume eater. My go-to volume pumpers are broccoli and cauliflower for an entree, and berries for dessert. Volume + fiber = double win!

Definitely a volum eater. When I started losing weight, I starved myself by reducing my portion to a minimum … because that’s what you’re “suposed to do” …

Now, I know better. I have a huge appetite and I need to fill it: Enters the veggie galore!

You should see my salads … Oops!

I used to be a volume eater, but slowly I’ve been training myself to eat less. I dunno, I just feel better when I eat less, almost like a light, airy feeling. I bet that sounds crazy, but I’m not really sure how to explain. Eating a load of food, no matter how low it is in calories, doesn’t sit well with my stomach or mentality.

Congrats on the new domain! I am a volume eater because, let’s face it, eating a lot is fun. I like red pepper strips and carrots. They are low calorie and the carrots take me a while to eat. Fresh fruit is the same. Oh- and Mary’s Gone Crackers. Those have a huge serving size and they are hard to chew (but still tasty) so they take me a while to eat.

I am DEFINITELY a volume eater! Last night I definitely overdid it at my stepfather’s Italian restaurant… oops. 😡

Normally I love a spinach salad for lunch with lots of awesome veggies. I also like eating just natural air-popped popcorn — low cal & so crunchily satisfying! Also, Orville Redenbacher makes a delicious 100-cal per bag kettle corn… the serving isn’t HUGE but it’s enough!

I love reading you blog! You show that eating well and exercising are enough to live a healthy life. I love running and eating healthy. However, I have dealt with body images issues for a couple years, but your blog helps me realize that everyone has insecurities and as long as you are happy with yourself then that’s all that matters. So thank you, the blog is awesome!

I know volume eating is fun and all, but from what you said, you seem to be avoiding weight gain like the plague, as if you need control over any increase in weight happening, which, with life, happens from time to time.
