I love my dog.She sure can drive me up a wall…
But at the end of the day… She’s a breath of fresh air and something I can always count on to make me smile and laugh hysterically.
Sadie was less than helpful this afternoon as Ryan snapped pictures of me for a little fitness-related project. Sadie clearly wanted to be the star!
As it turns out, I’m a pretty pathetic model and feel rather uncomfortable in front of the camera. It’s much easier for me to act goofy and use the self timer on my camera than it is for me to pose for pictures taken by others. I feel so awkward!
After our little side-project, Ryan and I headed inside to get crack-a-lackin’ on dinner.
Dinner
On the menu this evening was trout with roasted Brussels sprouts and Oreo Klondike bars!
I prepared the trout by spraying it with olive oil cooking spray and sprinkling it with garlic salt before broiling it on a cookie sheet lined with tin foil for approximately 10 minutes until the fish flaked with a fork.
It was really, really tasty! I never think to buy trout unless it is on sale, but it might be worth the extra money every now and then.
The Oreo Klondike bar made an excellent dessert. Great buy by Ryan! 😀
I think Ryan intended to keep the Klondike bars for himself, but he knows my love for ice cream cannot be tamed. I am officially a Klondike Thief. 😉
Now we’re chillin’ on the couch for a bit before getting into bed EARLY. I was exhausted at work all day and am in desperate need of a long, deep sleep.
Enjoy your evening, friends!

The trout looks delicious! Have you tried the reeses klondike bar? To-die-for! Is Sadie barking in the picttues or is that her smile?
Julie @ Peanut Butter Fingers says
yes! loooove reese’s klondikes!
and, no, sadie’s not barking. she’s being “huffy” as we call it. she opens her mouth and breathes in & out quickly when she’s overly excited. 🙂
Jaime says
Huffy!? Oh my gosh that is the funniest thing EVER!
Babs says

I’m jealous – I want a dog so mcuh, can’t exactly happen until I’m out of college, with a place of my own though!
Those klondike bars look dangerous ;)…
Jamie @ Food in Real Life says
Julie your arms are looking really defined!
Julie @ Peanut Butter Fingers says
dang, thanks!!!
Amy @ VitaminAmy says
I had roasted brussel sprouts for dinner too…great minds think alike! Sleep tight! xo
Melissa says
I thought she might have been howling in that first pic, my fogs howl instead of barking at times. Just curious, do you buy frozen fish or fresh? I do both, but the frozen seems to be cheaper though never really looks all that great.
Julie @ Peanut Butter Fingers says
we actually bought this fresh last week, but didn’t have time to use it so we froze it. 🙂 generally speaking, i usually buy fresh fish (whatever kind is on sale).
Emily says
Dinner looks delicious! I’ve never tried trout but it looks a lot like salmon..what’s the taste like?? I am definitely a sweets girl, too 🙂
Julie @ Peanut Butter Fingers says
it’s really, really good. kind of like a less-fishy tasting version of salmon.
Tina says
You look like you’re having fun and that’s what matters. 😀
carlee says
Same with my dog! I love her but oh the madness sometimes!
She always cheers me up tho unless she is the one driving me crazy in the first place! lol
Yummy lookin dinner, but even more…yummy lookin dessert!
Gracie @ Girl Meets Life says
Klondike bars remind me of my pop-pop 🙂 He knew that my sister and I liked them, so he always made sure to have them in stock!
Chelsea at Striking Balance says
Oh my gosh my dogs always get in the way as soon as I am close to the ground. There is never any way I can do any type of exercise that involves being on the ground. Yoga? Not a chance. Ab work? Hmph, good luck with that!
Jessica @ The Process of Healing says
I had fish for dinner tonight too.. so easy and so delicious!
And Klondike bars.. oh girl, I haven’t had one in YEARS and now i’m craving one like CARAZY!

Whoa! I didn’t even know that Klondike bars came in different flavors! I gotta get me one
Meg says
I didn’t know they had an Oreo Klondike bar! That sounds so good.
I’m the same way with pictures. I’d much rather make a silly face and being in front of the camera alone makes me feel so awkward!
Heather (Heather's Dish) says
we are addicted to those in a bad bad way…great buy by ryan!
Hillary [Nutrition Nut on the Run] says
Your arms are looking sooo strong and toned =]
Marina says
I always feel uncomfortable when I have to pose for pictures.
Love the dinner, and that dessert sounds delicious!
Erika @ Food, Fitness, & Fun says
Sadie is too cute – just curious how old is she? 🙂 My dog is 7 and she still acts like a puppy!
PS – I love Oreo Klondikes…only beat out by the Reeses! 🙂
Meg says
Sadie and Klondikes…what a perfect evening 😉
Hope says
I have those oreo Klondike bars in my freezer too! My boyfriend cannot get enough of anything with Oreo’s in it. 🙂
Sarah K. @ The Pajama Chef says
so i totally thought sadie was gonna be the klondike thief 🙂
peanutbutterfingers says
lol – that would’ve been better… or maybe not since chocolate + dogs = major danger! 🙂
Sarah K. @ The Pajama Chef says
i know, that’s what i thought! but growing up, my dog ate an 6×6 inch square of fudge wrapped in foil… and was fine…. but still, chocolate for dogs is no good!
peanutbutterfingers says
omg! the foil, too??? that’s amazing!
Rachel @ The Avid Appetite says
Love the Kondike bar throwback! Haven’t had one in so long. And anything with Oreo is destined for greatness…
Kelly says
I have never had a Klondike bar in my life…crazy huh? I mean I have had plenty of ice cream sandwiches but never the Klondike brand! Crazy enough my all time favorite ice cream sandwich is the Wal-Mart brand…Great Value (I think)…YUM!
Jessica says
Julie, I ALMOST bought Brussels sprouts last night because you always make them look so good. But then I realized I didn’t know the answer to one VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION…. Do you buy fresh or frozen? What is your opinion of both?
I’ve heard they taste like mini cabbage…I love cabbage. But my mom hates Brussels sprouts so I never tried them as a young girl. Help!! 🙂
peanutbutterfingers says
i buy them fresh… to be totally honest i didn’t even know they sold them frozen! i’m sure they’re just as tasty though!
Amber K says
I really need to start buying fresh brussel sprouts so I can roast them!
Dawn says
You are just so darn cute and that dog of yours has the most personality of any dog I have ever seen and to think I can tell that through just pictures and not ever meeting her. She just sreams “SMILE!”
Kaycee says
Aw Sadie is so cute! I have a golden retriever (his name is Tiger!) and he drives me crazy sometimes (as in when he escapes to our neighbors yard across the street to randomly roam their territory =]) but I love him to death! He is such a little brother to me! (and he makes for a good footwarmer/pillow in the winter times)
